July 20th, 2018 -- St. Kitts-based gospel music record label JIFE Music has officially signed Trinidad-based Soca Gospel Artist Keron ‘D Furnace’ Thomas. Furnace recently visited St. Kitts where he performed at a gospel concert and while here he formalized his contract with the record label. The label had previously signed Furnace to handle his bookings, but upgraded his contract making him a full-fledged JIFE Music artist. The signing took place recently at the offices of the parent company of JIFE Music, Palm Branch Media, located at Central Market Street, Basseterre.

Speaking after the signing, D Furnace said he was elated to be part of the record label. “I am delighted to be signed under a very nice, good label. I consider them as family. I know a lot of great stuff are going to come out of this label. I look forward to working along with the brethren on this label,” Furnace said after putting pen to paper.

Being with the label has already borne fruits for D Furnace. In April, through submissions from the label, D Furnace won Best Soca Gospel for 2018 for his song “Can’t Take My Joy Away” at the Antigua and Barbuda Gospel Music Awards in St. John’s, Antigua. While in St. Kitts, he had the chance to shoot his music video for his latest hit single “Daddy Daddy,” which will be released next month. Regarding him winning Best Soca Gospel category at the ABGMA, Furnace said: “It is an awesome feeling winning the award for Best Gospel Soca out of Antigua and Barbuda. I feel good about it and I just want to sincerely thank JIFE Music for really pushing for excellence. I want to thank everyone from different Caribbean islands for voting for me.”

Meanwhile, JIFE Music President Roy Nisbett, who is also an artist on the label, disclosed why they decided to sign D Furnace to the label. “We are elated, we are happy to be able to reach out D Furnace and have him as part of the JIFE label. It is a wonderful feeling. We are expecting wonderful things from him. We love his ministry and we are expecting Jesus to be glorified and souls to be won,” Nisbett said. “We have lot’s more to come and lot’s more to be done.”

D Furnace is currently working on his debut album under the label, slated for a November 2018 launch. He will be managed by JIFE Music’s Label Executive and CEO of Palm Branch Media Andre Huie, who also manages fellow JIFE Artist Di Anointed Vale.

D Furnace, christened Keron Thomas hails from the small community of South Oropouche where he started his music career in a small church called Living Epistle Outreach ministry. He formed a band in 2002 called Mission Epistle, where he held the lead role as lead vocalist, leader and song writer. In 2006 the group launched its only album called “Stand Up.’ This album received rave reviews and support from gospelreggae.com. Keron then moved on as a solo artist known as D Specialist, and later became D Furnace.  His vision is to incorporate conscious positive vibes, Soca, Reggae and Dancehall to propel his music and art to the next level.

In 2013 D Furnace released his new single “Tumbling” which helped propel him on the regional scene. He toured with Curtis Jordan and company at the Caribbean Gospel Music Tour in 2015 and 2016.

JIFE Music (JIFE means: Jesus is For Everyone) also has on its roster artists from St. Kitts and Nevis and Jamaica including Nyquan, Kittitian Superstar runner up Dominic Brookes, Tehillah and Di Anointed Vale. The label produces a weekly radio show “The JIFE Music Show,” which also won an award for Best Radio Show at the 2018 Antigua and Barbuda Gospel Music Awards. The label continues to thrive on creating opportunities for its artists while at the same time scoping out new talent. More information can be found at the label’s newly launched revamped website: www.jifemusic.com.
