Capoon’s Bay Clinic re-opens on July 23

    Friday, July 20 – Residents of the West End and Capoon’s Bay areas can now seek medical attention at the restored Capoon’s Bay Clinic.

     

    Acting Director of Community Health Services, Mrs. Cherry-Ann George-Smith, said the clinic was out of operation since the impact of Hurricane Irma on September 6 and that the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) is delighted to resume its services on Monday, July 23.
     
    Mrs. George-Smith said, “To resume the provision of quality, accessible and affordable health service and to support the community, especially our vulnerable population which includes children, the elderly and shut-ins are very important factors for the BVIHSA.”
     
    Major equipment and furniture were replaced as part of the restoration, as well as plumbing, tiling and electrical works were carried out on the building.  
     
    Mrs. George-Smith added, “We are offering a full range of services which includes family planning, antenatal and post-natal care, well-baby clinic, child and adult immunization, school health, elderly services, home visits, wound management, doctor’s clinic, and chronic disease management.”
     
    The community is encouraged to access the services, either as walk-in or through appointments at telephone numbers 440-1641 or 440-1728. The clinic’s operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
