By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Aug. 06.2018 – TEAM St. Kitts and Nevis competing at the CONCACAF Girls Under-15 Championships, opened play today (Aug. 6) with a 4-3 victory over Belize.

Playing at the IMG Academy campus in Bradenton, Florida, team St. Kitts and Nevis started slowly, despite taking the lead through a strike from Trishannie Warner in the 5th minute. Belize showed toughness as Khalyda Velasquez equalized in the 8th minute, before Shenda Casimiro put her team in front one minute later.

A third was added before half time through a strike from Jasselle Conorque in the 30th minute. However, those were the only strikes that the Central American team could muster, as the Junior Sugar Girls fought hard in the second half to record a come-from-behind victory.

Warner struck a second in the 42nd minute, before teammate Ellie equalized five minutes later and Jasanna Williams 49th minute goal sealed the win for St. Kitts and Nevis with the winning goal.

The tournament, according to CONCACAF, is an expanded version from the previous two editions and will provide access to international football for over 500 girls from across the CONCACAF region.
