BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Aug. 13.2018 – FOLLOWING the discovery of a firearm and ammunition on Nevis recently, police have slapped charges on five individuals who were in the house in which the find was made.
Police, while executing a search warrant on a premises in Church Ground, Nevis on August 09, 2018, found one (1) 9mm Semi-Automatic Pistol and a magazine containing seven (7) rounds of matching ammunition.
Subsequently, police formerly charged and cautioned Jacqueline Allen, Rosalyn Esdaille, Nickie Allen, Ta-Michea Esdaille and Shem Henry, all of whom are from Church Ground.
Police confirmed that they each received four charges: Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Smuggling of Firearm and Smuggling of Ammunition.
The charges were laid on August 11, 2018.
The discovery of the weapon brings the total number of firearms removed from the streets of St. Kitts and Nevis to 19 for 2018.
