BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 17, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Defending Champions Lodge Domino Club’s winning run in the ninth segment of the first round of the round-robin stage in the 23rd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition came to a screeching halt on Thursday August 16 with an unforeseen narrow loss to Beers Domino Club.

The two teams met at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, and defending champions Lodge were the hot favourites with the home ground advantage. But things did not go their way as Beers Domino Club, whose home base in Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village emerged victorious with a 13-12 win.

Immediate past champions Unity Domino Club beat Giants Domino Club 13-9 in a game played at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project.

In just the only game in this segment that was played a day earlier on Wednesday August 15, Parsons Domino Club going against the odds in playing away from home, and in another Constituency for that matter, had nothing to lose when they faced the pre-game favourites and home team Guinness at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village. At the end of the lively and heated encounter Parsons were victorious and with a big 13-4 win.

Saddlers the other team from Constituency Six had wanted to cause a similar upset away from home in Constituency Seven, on Thursday but their superb run was halted when they narrowly lost the game to the home team. Sylvers scrapped through with a narrow home ground win over Saddlers at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village 13-12.

In other results Molineux beat Christchurch 13-7 at the Edgar Gilbert Pavilion in Molineux, while Unstoppable collected a clean six points without pushing a dice when their opponents Phillips who are the new kids on the block, having joined the league this season, failed to raise a full team. Similarly Small Corner Bar had a walkover win based on the fact that Tabernacle has withdrawn from the league.

Tenth segment in the first round of the 23rd edition Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, which is sponsored by Prime Minister and Constituency Parliamentary Representative Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, will see the remaining teams continue with the games at five venues on Tuesday August 21.

Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley will host two games, Beers vs. Sylvers, and Guinness vs. Unstoppable. The two Constituency Number Six teams will have a home advantage as Giants will travel to Saddlers’ Kittie Bar to face the home team Saddler, while Parsons will entertain Small Corner Bar Domino Club. In other games, Molineux will meet Phillips at the Edgar Gilbert Pavilion, and Christchurch will entertain Champions Lodge at Mansion Domino House.
