BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is once again mourning the loss of one of its protectors as news of the shooting death of another police officer rocks the nation.
Sergeant Leon Powell also known as Shabba was shot and killed during an armed robbery sometime after 1:00 a.m. this morning (Aug. 18) in Newton Ground, according to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
An update will be provided once additional information becomes available.
This is the second homicide of a police officer this year, the first being that of Sergeant Dwight Davis whose lifeless body was found by two passers-by on a dirt road in the vicinity of the railway line in Dieppe Bay on the morning of May 3.
