Buchanan identified as homicide victim

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Aug. 21.2018 – THE cry of anguish rang out last evening (Aug. 20) when the lifeless body of 36-year-old, Kasim Buchanan, formerly of Sandy Point, was being removed from an alleyway in Basseterre.

    At around 6:25 p.m., police received a report by the victim’s girlfriend (no name provided), who lived along with the victim in a house in an alley that connects Nevis Street and College Street Ghaut.

    Preliminary investigations by the law men have revealed that the girlfriend left him at home in the morning, and upon her return in the evening, found his motionless body in a pool of blood. The District Medical Doctor arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead.

    After the discovery was made a large crowd gather outside the Maurice Hillier School oblique to the Warner Park Complex to get a glimpse of the scene.

    Police quickly cordoned off the area and began processing the scene for evidence.
     
    The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force in a statement today, confirmed that Buchanan body showed signs of trauma.

    Buchanan’s death brought the number of homicides for the year to 19, with one being ruled inconclusive.
