BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Aug. 22.2018 – THE St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots laid down a strong performance last evening (Aug. 21), to easily dispose of the St. Lucia Stars at Darren Sammy Stadium by seven wickets.

Winning the toss and elected to field; the Patriots quickly making inroads into the home side, when they removed hard hitting Andre Fletcher in the first over of the innings.

That triggered a collapse from the team, as they were skittled out for 69 inside 13 Overs -the third lowest total by a team in the tournament.

In reply, the Patriots breezed total with the loss of three wickets, ending on 70.

They lost the wickets of Evin Lewis (13), Brandon King (17) and Tom Cooper without scoring.

Wicket Keeper batsman Devon Thomas powered his way to a quickfire 38 runs from 21 balls that included 5x4s and 1x6.

Sheldon Cottrell was the pick of the Patriots bowlers, bagging figures 3 for 14 in 2.3 overs, gaining support from Bangladeshi right-arm offbreak bowler, Mahmudalla and Sandeep Lamichhane, both of whom grabbed two wickets each.

Australian David Warner (14) and Qais Ahmad (24), were the only players that got into double figures for the Stars.

The Patriots are currently on 4 points and sit fifth on the points table. They will next travel to Barbados to tackle the Tridents.

Stars will play another home game, this time against table toppers, the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Friday 24 August.

The Patriots return to action on Saturday 25 August at the Kensington Oval from 4:00 p.m.
