BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Aug. 30.2018 – THE St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots will be looking to rebound from a narrow four-wicket defeat by the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Tuesday evening at Warner Park, when they come up against the St. Lucia Stars this evening.

The Patriots led by Chris Gayle posted a below par 168 for 7 off their allotted 20 overs on a good batting surface; that was chased down in a tense last over by the Warriors – with one ball to spare.

Following that encounter, Gayle told local reporters that his team will be heading back to the drawing board and looking to keep consistent with their performance.

“We just have to get back to the drawing board…. We need to be more consistent with both the bat and the ball, and hopefully take away the games”

The hard-hitting opener reminded that they have played six matches so far in the tournament and are on a 50/50 performance ratio in terms of wins and defeat, noting that they cannot at this stage of the tournament take anything for granted if they desire to make the playoffs.

They have four remaining home games and will have performance at their best as they currently sit fourth on the points table, two behind the Warriors and the Knight Riders.

Winning the toss, the Patriots were set back early, but Gayle’s 40 and Anthony Devcich 35 runs ensured the home side went beyond the 150 mark.

Imran Tahir 4 for 22 off his allocated four overs was the pick of the Warriors bowlers.

In reply, strong hitting from Tanvir guided the visitors over the line as they claw their way back up the points table.

Action gets underway this evening from 6:00 p.m.; however, rain may factor into this encounter.
