Basseterre, St. Kitts, 4th September, 2018 - Christophe Harbour has been recognised for its role in the establishment of the first autism treatment centre to be opened on St. Kitts.
The St. Kitts Spectrum Services Centre was equipped with the necessary tools and furniture when the Christophe Harbour Foundation arranged for the US Airforce to bring the equipment to St. Kitts. The Foundation contributed well over $36,500 in purchasing the items and in shipping the items to St. Kitts.
Dr. Sheryl Rosin, who has been spearheading the establishment of the centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Education praised the Christophe Harbour Foundation for its partnership.
She said, “One other thing I wanted to mention… all the amazing people in the back from Christophe Harbour, you are an organisation that brought all the materials and supplies and actually helped us put everything together and help make this brand new centre a possibility. The Christophe Harbour Foundation donated everything, and even got the US Airforce! We were so blessed to have them, so thank you very much.”
Representing The Christophe Harbour Foundation was Robert V. Morris, the Christophe Harbour Development Manager.
Morris told the audience, “Indeed, we are very proud to have played such a significant role in the establishment of the Center.”
The Christophe Harbour Development Manager continued, “As a parent of an Autistic child, I have experienced first-hand the challenges in specialized support for our children.”
He said Christophe Harbour looks forward to a long-term partnership with the Ministry of Education and continued development of autism services and awareness.
Since its inception, the Foundation has donated more than $2 million EC to charitable causes and organizations throughout the Federation and is the Federation’s largest supporter of youth literacy and development initiatives.
Education Permanent Secretary William Hodge, as the Master of Ceremonies, rallied the audience to the recognition of the input of the Foundation.
Hodge said, “We also want to give a big round of applause to Christophe Harbour for, not only helping with this project, but for being a very strong partner in education.”
