Police Press Release: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities august 16-28, 2018

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 28, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period August 16-28, 2018.

     

    ARRESTS AND BAIL:
     
    Arrested: Andrew Herbert of Fiennes Avenue McKnight was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Building Breaking.
     
    Arrested: Ziron Battice of West Street, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Larceny and Receiving.
     
    Arrested: Marc Pherson Altis of College Housing was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Forgery.
     
    Arrested: Jamarie James of Brunder Avenue McKnight was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Building Breaking and Larceny.
     
    Arrested: Yugeshwar Hardtt of Craddock Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License.
     
    Arrested: Carlton Connor of The Ghaut, Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Resisting Arrest, Making Use of Threatening Language and Indecent Language.
     
    Arrested: Andrew Herbert of Fiennes Avenue, McKnight was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Building Breaking.
     
    Arrested: A Juvenile of Pond Road, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Receiving and Larceny.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Ivan Payne of Dieppe Bay was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver's License and Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on September 07, 2018.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Livinsia Allen of McKnight was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Refusing to Give Name and Making Use of Threatening Language. She was granted bail in the sum of $1,000 for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 01, 2018.
     
    Bailed: Delroy Stapleton of Lodge was granted bail in the sum of $25,000 to appear before the Court in January 2019 at a date to be given.
     
    Bailed: Andrew Wilson of Lodge Project, who was charged for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Dangerous Driving, was granted bail in the sum of $7,000 for his appearance in court at a date to be given later.
     
    Bailed: Austin Douglas of Frigate Bay, who was arrested on a Bench warrant, was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on August 28, 2018.
     
    Bailed: Zodique Butler a.k.a. Ninja of Pond Road, Newtown, who was formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Receiving and Larceny, was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on September 24, 2018 with the following bail conditions: (1) the Applicant is to observe a nightly curfew at home from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and (2) the Applicant is to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Wednesday between 6 a.m. to 12 noon.
     
    Bailed: Akeem Huggins of New Road Housing Project, who was charged for the offence of Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver's Licence and Driving Without Insurance, was granted bail in the sum of $7,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 04, 2018.
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS:
     
    In matters at the District “A” Magistrate Court, Presided by His Honour Mr. Benjamin, the following were reported:
     
    - Jeron Javis of Lodge Project was convicted and fined $1,500 to be paid in six (6) weeks or, in default, serve four (4) months in prison for Driving Without Insurance and $300 to be paid in one (1) month or, in default, serve four (4) weeks in prison respectively;
     
    - Oral Carty of Green Tree Housing Old Road was fined $1,000 to be paid in three (3) weeks or, in default, serve twelve (12) weeks in prison for Driving Without Due Care and Attention; 
     
    - Yogashwarnauth Balgobin of Amory Drive Basseterre was fined $1,500 to be paid in six (6) weeks or, in default, serve four (4) months in prison for Driving Without Due Care and Attention.
     
    - Emmanuel Rodriguez, an undocumented immigrant of Santo Domingo, who was charged for Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver's Licence and Driving Without Insurance, was convicted and placed on bond in the sum of $2,500 to keep the peace and to be of good behaviour in the like for a period of one (1) year and, if in breach of the bond condition, he will be brought back for sentencing or to pay a fine in the aforementioned sum. He agreed to leave the Federation with the option to return no sooner than six months.
     
    In matters at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Ms. Karen Hector, the following were reported:
     
    - Elaine Richardson of Harris Village who was charged for Malicious Damage, Battery and Insulting Language was fined $400 to be paid in ten (10) days or, in default, serve thirty (30) days imprisonment;
     
    - Shakiela Richardson of Harris Village who was charged for Battery, was fined $300 to be paid in ten (10) days or, in default, serve thirty (30) days in prison.
     
    - Simba Warner of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point, who was charged for the offences of Obstruction, Resisting Arrest, Battery on Police, Failing to Comply and Negligently Interrupting the Free Flow of Traffic, was found not guilty of all charges.
     
    OTHER ACTIVITES:
     
    Marijuana  Plants Uprooted: Officers of the Anti- Gang Task Force, District "B" and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force returned from duty and reported that they uprooted two hundred and three (203) Cannabis Plants ranging from four (4) to eleven (11) feet in height from an empty lot of land at Farm Site. The said plants were taken into police custody.
     
    Abandoned Properties: Police continued to execute searches of abandoned properties and empty lots. Most recently, searches were done in the following areas: Upper Cayon, Lodge Project, Bellevue Village, Crab Hill and Bird Rock.
