BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Sept. 07.2018 – WITH the government and civil society pushing to find a solution to the problem of crime in St. Kitts and Nevis, the federation has recorded yet another murder.
Late last evening, a 58-year-old male was gunned down in the New Road Housing Project.
Police in a media statement today (Sept07) confirmed that they received reports of a shooting incident around 10:40 p.m. and responded.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Edward Ryan of Fiennes Avenue was sitting in his car in the area of Charles Halbert Street when two armed men approached him.
The gunmen opened fire and he was shot several times about the body, and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Technicians from the Forensic Department visited and processed the scene and took items of evidential value into police custody.
This latest incident has brought the number of homicides recorded in the federation to 21 for the year 2018.
