SKN and Puerto Rico ready to kick start Nations League

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Sept. 09.2018 - WITH the aim of qualifying for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States, the St. Kitts and Nevis Men’s Senior Football team will kick start that campaign this evening against Puerto Rico.
     
    Playing their encounter in the new League of Nations, the men’s team is fully fit and ready to rumble, as the visitors are seeking to turn around a losing streak that saw them losing their last games.
     
    Coach of the Puerto Rico team, Amado Guevara told reporters at a press conference that the St. Kitts Marriott Resort yesterday (Sept. 08), that his team is using it as an opportunity to develop the young players within its structure.
     
    Speaking through a translator, he pointed out that “it is the only opportunity Puerto Rico is going to have to expose themselves”.
     
    “Tomorrow is going to be a great opportunity for Puerto Rico. It is great to have the opportunity to even qualify for the Gold Cup, and this is just the start of it and it is just a dream to be here.”
     
    Jacques Passy, coach of the St. Kitts and Nevis team, that he has been developing the national team, noting that that will take some time to get to the position that he wants for the unit.
     
    He pointed out that his aim for the team is for them to be one of the best teams in the CONCACAF region.
     
    “We have a very interesting tournament ahead of us, because tomorrow (today) we face Puerto Rico, which is a team that has very good players,” Passy said.
     
    The action gets underway from 8:00 p.m. when the first whistle blows.
