Contestant #6 in the Culturama 35 Miss Culture Queen Pageant is Nevisian beauty Cindy Liburd. She was born under the sign of Virgo on the sixth day of September 1984 and lived all of her life at Church Ground, St. John’s Parish Nevis.
Cindy attended the St. John’s Primary School from 1989 to 1996 and then the Charlestown Secondary School from 1996 to 2001. She graduated from the Charlestown Secondary School with six CXC passes at the General Proficiency Level.
Upon leaving school she was employed at Chapter One Book Store and is presently employed as an Office Assistant at Business Solutions for the past five years.
Cindy is a very creative, reserved and quiet person who enjoys hair braiding, fashion designing and surfing the internet during her leisure time. She was a founding member of the Nemesis Modeling Agency. Although the group is no longer functional Cindy always uses any opportunity afforded to her to display her modeling skills.
Cindy hopes to fulfill her career ambition in the not too distant future by becoming a certified beautician so that she can help black women look their best.
One of her proudest moments was when she was selected to be the only Nevisian contestant in the Miss Silver Jubilee Pageant which was held as part of the Twenty-fifth Anniversary celebrations for St. Kitts and Nevis’ Independence in September 2008. Cindy was judged as First Runner Up in the said contest.
If she is crowned the Thirty-fifth Anniversary Culturama Queen, Cindy would welcome the opportunity to become a successful ambassador for her country and she would encourage the Nevisian youths to have a positive outlook on their precious lives. Her life’s motto is: “You cannot reach the top by being like every one else”.
