Police hunting one following largest guns and ammo find

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Sept.13.2018 – POLICE, during a search operation, found a large quantity of guns and ammunition, as they continue their search for one person in connection to the find.
     
    During a search operation yesterday morning in Keys Village, while approaching a premises in the area, they saw four (4) males in a yard. The men began running when they saw the police approaching.
     
    Police in statement disclosed that they gave chase and while pursuing the persons, one (1) individual threw what appeared to be a bag over a wall. Upon inspection, the officers found the bag containing what appeared to be pistols and a large quantity of ammunition.
     
    Further, it was also disclosed that during the chase of another individual, offers came across another bag. Upon inspection, that bag contained “what also appeared to be pistols, a quantity of marijuana and a large amount of assorted ammunition”.
     
    “In total, six (6) firearms - two (2) .45 pistols, two (2) .40 pistols, one (1) 9mm pistol and one (1) .38 revolver - and in excess of two hundred and fifty (250) rounds of assorted ammunition were found. They were taken into Police custody along with a rental vehicle. Three (3) of the four (4) men who were present were caught, and one (1) managed to escape. He is currently being sought by the Police. Technicians from the Forensic Department visited and processed the scene,” the police statement read.
     
    Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
