By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes
CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THREE men are in custody at the Charlestown Police Station following the shooting-death of a Kittitian early this morning (Aug. 3) in the vicinity of the Culture Village in Grove Park, Nevis.

Dead is 31-year-old Stephen ‘Lick Shot’ Thomas of Phillip’s Village, St. Kitts, who at the time of his death was residing with his girlfriend in Stoney Grove, Nevis.

According to reports, Thomas was at the Bull Pen (an entertainment area adjoining the Culture Village), where he had an altercation with a group of men sometime before 5:00 this morning. On leaving the venue, the altercation continued on the roadway.

SKNVibes learnt that Thomas tried to escape his attackers by running along an alley opposite the Culture Village, but was pursued and shot multiple times in the back arm and shoulder. He was pronounced dead on the scene by District Medical Officer Dr. Chandy Jacobs.

Last November, Thomas was the victim of a shooting incident in Brown Hill, Nevis. He was shot once in the back and once in the left arm.

His death has taken the number of persons murdered in the twin-island Federation to 17; one on Nevis and 16 on St. Kitts.

Only three days ago the Federation recorded its 16th murder in the shooting death of Maxwell Christopher of Tabernacle Village.

According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Henry, police responded to a call at about 12:02 on Saturday (Aug. 1) and officers found the body of Maxwell Christopher lying on the main road of Tabernacle Housing Project with a bullet wound to his head. He was pronounced dead on the scene by District Medical Officer Dr. Garfield Alexander.

Investigations into both murders are ongoing.
