BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - MEMBERS of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force are presently investigating the death of a man while he was at sea yesterday morning (Sept. 17).

According to a police press release, 60-year-old Paul Mitchum of Cayon experienced difficulty while at Friars Bay at the South East Peninsula and was pulled out of the water by a family member.

“The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) was called and was unable to revive Mitchum after performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The District Medical Doctor was summoned and Mitchum was pronounced dead at the scene,” it said.

As investigations into the matter continues, an autopsy is expected to be performed on the body to determine the cause of death.
