Masinda Nisbett crowned Miss Culture 2009

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – MISS Coastal Air Transport Masinda Nisbett turned in a stunning performance to walk away with the title of Miss Culture 2009 as the Queen Pageant ended at the Cultural Complex in the wee hours of Monday morning (Aug. 3).

    Masinda won the showpiece of the Culturama celebrations ahead of Miss Carib Brewery St. Kitts and Nevis, Mika O’Brien; and Miss NAGICO Insurances, Cindy Liburd, in that order.

     

    Also competing were Miss Island Tyre and Hardware Tamarelle Brown; Miss LIME, Tatiana Dore; and Miss Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, Kishsandra Williams.

     

    The night however belonged to Masinda who amassed 2060 points to Mika’s 1949 and Cindy’s 1887. She captured the Evening Gown segment, the Promotional Speech with 213 points, and the National Costumer with 202. The results in the Swimwear segment held the previous weekend were announced and showed the extent of Masinda’s domination. She won the One-piece category with 216 points, the two-piece with 223 points, and the Pretty in Pink with 232 points.
     
    Masinda was also adjudged Miss Photogenic, for which she was awarded an all expenses paid one-week stay at the South Gap Hotel in Barbados.
     
    Mika won the prize for Best Attire, with 212 points, Tamarelle won the Interview segment with 215, and Kishsandra was adjudged the Best Talent with her ‘Tribute to Miko’, where she paid homage to the veteran calypsonian.
     
    On Sunday, the ‘Sensational Six’ appeared on stage for the Promotional Speech, the National Costume and the Evening Wear during which the Interview took place.
     
    Masinda was crowned by 2008 Queen Tanisha Hendrickson. Minister of Culture Hon. Hensley Daniel was also on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes.
