NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (September 20, 2018) -- Nine Nevisians were recognised for their contribution to the development of Nevis, at the 35th Anniversary of Independence Ceremonial Parade and Awards Ceremony at the Elquemedo T. Willett Park on Wednesday, September 09, 2018.
The awards were in seven categories. Mr. Urban Jones and Mr. Ralph Ottley were awarded for Construction. In the area of Entrepreneurship, Mr. Claude Nisbett and Mr. Oldain Claxton were awarded. Mr. D. Allister Parris was awarded for his contribution to the Marine Industry. Ms. Joya Clarke was awarded for Music. Mr. Eric Maynard was awarded for his contribution to Religion and Mr. Vincent Maynard, for his contribution to Sports. Mrs Ermine Hendrickson was awarded for her contribution to Nursing.
Her Honour Mrs. Hyleta Liburd, the recently appointed Deputy Governor General for Nevis presented the awards.
