CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – NEVISIANS and visitors poured into the streets of Charlestown on Tuesday (Aug. 4) to witness - what was effectively the end of Culturama 35 - the Parade of Troupes and Bands around the island’s capital.

Revellers lined the entire route as the parade moved from the old Pinney’s Hotel along the Main Road towards the Charlestown High School and into the Cultural Complex.

Some eight schools were among the 22 troupes which were led by Culturama 35 patron Owen Bussue. Also part of the parade was Miss Culture 35, Masinda Nisbett; Kaiso King I-Soursop; Junior Soca Monarch De Inspirer; and Mr. and Miss Teen Talent Shaqia Claxton and Aliyah Caines.

The bands included Odisi, Ultra Sonic, Ultimate and Two Links Sound System. And it was the Odisi Band that was adjudged Road March winner with ‘Sweetness’.

Up to press time SKNVibes was unable to get the names of winners in the various categories of competition.
