By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - MUSICAL EXTRAORDINAIRE, as I.T.Y.C defines himself, has recently launched a music video on PEP TV and ZIZ for one of his new and well-talked about tracks ‘Where’s Your Crown’.

According to the well-versed rapper, the song also features his label mate V.P. and is about being “yourself”, being true to life and the game. “If you are a king or queen, then where is your crown? If you are a lifeguard you got to know how to swim,” he added.

The new release single and video is part of his energised marketing strategy that will lead up to his debut album ‘Born 2 do this’.

With an aspiring goal of becoming an international rapper, I.T.Y.C, who got the name from the initials of his full name - Talvert Yakim Clarke and the additional ‘I’ which he declared stands for his presence - said he is uncertain of the release date for his debut album but it would feature 12 possible tracks.

Clarke also said that three more singles are on the way to be released, and they are titled ‘Reality music’, ‘Think about me’ and ‘Top of the world’.

Clarke has performed on a number of shows including the 2008 Prime Minister’s Independence Freedom Concert, Best-A-Dem Extacy Teen Bubble Concert and the National Queen Pageant. He also produced the singles ‘I need A’ and ‘Never really matter’, both of which are collaborations. He was also featured on D’Vybes Band 2009 National Carnival Album.

With nothing standing in his was to stardom, the young Sandy Pointer is also the co-founder of the music label Sparkling Entertainment,  where he engages in working on promotions for other artistes, song writing, constructing melodies for other artistes and experimenting with fashion. However, according to him, he is still very much focused on building his name as a solo artiste and branding it.

Talvert Yakim Clarke was born into music as his father was a well-rounded musician who, for most of his life, played in a brass band. So, there is hardly ever a time when the young lyrical rapper is not engaged in humming, rapping or singing, which adds to his versatility.
