Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine Now Accepting Applications for the 2019 RUSVM Scholarship Program

By: RUSVM, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (October 18, 2018) – Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) continues its commitment to the local community by seeking applicants for the 2019 RUSVM Scholarship Program. Sixth form students from around the Federation are encouraged to apply now through November 5, 2018.

In its second year, the University’s flagship scholarship program awards academically deserving students with a financial need with the opportunity to study at the Sir Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) and the Nevis Sixth Form College. Financial support of up to two years of tuition, books and other fees is awarded to students who are enrolled in either institutions and reside on St. Kitts and Nevis for at least one year prior to the scholarship’s announcement.

Described by RUSVM Scholarship Program founder and Senior Campus Administrator, Ray E. Francis, as a meaningful academic partnership with post-secondary intuitions on island, the program has already provided 11 students with the opportunity to pursue academic excellence without the worry of financial obligations. The awards are also named after long serving outstanding colleagues of RUSVM dating back to 1983.

“Our University considers it a part of our responsibility to contribute to the success and development of young persons who pass through the two major tertiary institutions of the Federation,” said Francis. “It is a tremendous opportunity to open the program again in partnership with CFBC and the Nevis Sixth Form College to help students manage their financial commitments to education while focusing on achieving their academic goals. We look forward to supporting a new set of young leaders in pursuing their dreams.”

Interested applicants may collect application forms from the Registrar’s Office at both the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and the Nevis Sixth Form College. All completed application forms are to be submitted to scholarships@rossu.edu. The following documents should also accompany completed applications forms: CSEC certificates, two character references, a short personal essay and an essay on one of the listed topics outlined on the application forms. A personal interview will be conducted with each successful applicant.

The 2019 RUSVM Scholarship Award recipients will be announced on November 26, 2018 and celebrated at a Scholarship Awards Reception at the University in West Farm.
