BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Nakita Ritche who was named the Kajola Kirstada Ltd. Employee of the Month (EoM) for August 2018.
A 12 year veteran, Ritchen was ecstatic but also shocked to learn that she won the prestigious award.
“I was not expecting it. I thought they [EoM Committee] came to give the award to the person next to me,” she said with a big grin.
For some time now, the Kajola EoM Committee has been making a big celebration whenever announcing the employee of each month. They would sing and dance around the factory several times to build anticipation before coming to a stop at the person who had won the award for that month.
Ritchen told SKNVibes Media that she made improvements in her work ethics over the past few months, but she did not do so with the intention of winning the award but rather to build herself and her performance.
“I decided to work on myself at work and I have improved a lot in my work and how I interact with people. I didn’t do it to win the award, I just did it because I wanted to better myself. But, now that I have won this, I will definitely work towards winning again,’ she said.
She encouraged her fellow workers not to give up, but “keep fighting”instead.
Line Leader, Myrtha James said that Ritchen is a very hard worker who could be counted on for anything.
“She is very helpful on the line, she is one of the top people,” James said.
She encouraged Ritchen to “keep up the good work” while congratulating her on winning the Employee of the Month award.
