SKN Foreign Minister Brantley pays courtesy call on top JICA official

    November 02, 2018 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) -- It was a busy day of engagements for St. Kitts and Nevis’ delegation to Japan, led by Hon. Mark Brantley, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation on November 02, 2018.   

     

    Minister Brantley held discussions with Mr. Shigeru Maeda, Senior Vice-President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), regarding strengthening the relationship between JICA and St. Kitts and Nevis, and exploring new technical programmes for the benefit of the Federation’s citizens. 
     
    Minister Brantley also expressed his desire for JICA to explore, on a bilateral basis, projects relating to geothermal energy in St. Kitts and Nevis. He indicated that the Federation has already embarked on a path towards the use of renewable energy. 
     
    Minister Brantley also expressed the need for vocational training for young people and other interested persons. 
     
    The Japan International Cooperation Agency pledged its continued support to work with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis to address its development needs.
