MoE provides Etiquette Training to Enhance the Capacity of Support Staff

    (EMU) – St. Kitts, November 12, 2018: A course aimed at strengthening the Ministry of Education’s efficiency in Administration was conducted on November 8th and 9th jointly at the Nathaniel John Hospitality Center and the Ocean Terrace Inn.  

     

    The business etiquette and customer service training was organized for selected clerks, messengers and office attendants within the Ministry and highlighted the importance of protocol and etiquette as vital components of civil service professionalism.  

    The training program was facilitated by private sector experts, Mrs. Laverne Caines and Mr. Roland Renne of Protocol and Personal Branding Professionals Inc., and is part of the Ministry’s concerted effort to prepare employees for success and mastery of key skills pertinent to their profession.  

    At the opening of the two-day training Dr. Tricia Esdaille, Senior Assistant Secretary, asserted that the course would be useful for all employees within the civil service who interact with the public, “We firmly believe within the Ministry that all levels in the Ministry that everyone should engage with the public in the same way with a high degree of professionalism and a mandate to serve.” 

    The participants were encouraged to provide their general feedback on the course by means of an evaluation form as it is the ministry’s intention to offer the training to other clerks, messengers and office attendants, at a later date.
