BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE say that two Newcastle men have been charged with Attempted Murder following an incident that occurred on November 8.
In a statement issued today (Nov. 21), police charged Patrice Monzack and Mikey Mills - both of who they say remain hospitalized – with the attempted murder John Yearwood.
Yearwood, who is a prominent hotelier was injured after gunmen broke into his home.
According to a police press statement, at 1:45 a.m. on November 8, two armed men broke into his Jones Estate area home. He fired at the two men, striking them both.
Police said the men returned fire, hitting Mr. Yearwood in the leg.
Yearwood was transported to the Alexandra Hospital, and was later in Trinidad and Tobago for treatment.
Police disclosed that four men were apprehended trying to board a boat for St. Kitts. Two of the men had gunshot injuries.
The injured men are currently warded in a stable condition at the Alexandra Hospital where they are being treated for gunshot injuries.
