BASSETTERRE, St. Kitts - A St. Paul’s man is said to be recovering following a shooting incident that occurred Friday (Nov. 23) evening.
Police in a media statement Saturday said preliminary investigations revealed that 38-year-old Joma Rawlins of St. Paul’s and another person were sitting on the back steps of a house when, at about 9 p.m. an unknown assailant began shooting at them.
Police said Rawlins was shot in the leg and was transported to the JNF Hospital, where he was treated for his injury and discharged.
Members of the Crime Scene Unit visited and processed the scene. Items of evidential value were taken into police custody.
The Police are making an appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468 or their nearest Police Station. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
