CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – AFTER awaiting sentencing for two months, a mother and her two sons were yesterday fined $10 000, to be paid in six months, or 12 months in prison.
Marcella Westerman and her sons Ibol Tyson and Akimbo Tyson were jointly charged with possession of a controlled drug earlier this year. They were found guilty after a trial but their sentencing was postponed on a number of occasions.
On Wednesday, Magistrate Claudette Jenkins also ordered Ibol to pay a separate fine of $1 000 within six months, or will spend three months in jail. Ibol pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis which was found in his possession.
