CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – PINK LILY BREAST CANCER CARE Nevis has succeeded in raising some EC$17,436.07 towards chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment in Cuba for a Gingerland mother of three.

The generous contributions resulted in Cindy Freeman travelling to Cuba in the company of her physician Dr. Jessica Bardalis, who played a major role in finding accommodation and preparing her for treatment.

According to information received from Pink Lily, some $2,476.07 of the funds raised were collected at the gospel concert held at the Gingerland Wesleyan Holiness Church on Friday, July 31.

The event, organised by church member Patsy Hanley, attracted 91 persons and consisted of songs and dances and prayers of support for Cindy, who was accompanied by her husband Livingston Freeman, Dr. Bardalis and other family members.

Doctor Bardalis spoke of the importance of regular screening and preventative measures, including healthy eating and physical exercise. Cindy expressed her gratitude to everyone who made a donation and those who supported the concert to help save her life. She shared her fears, her feelings and said she was putting her trust in the Lord. Before being overcome by emotion, Cindy also talked of how she would miss her children and husband.

Founder of Pink Lily and long time friend of Cindy, Lea Parris-Cambridge, gave the vote of thanks.
