‘What’s up with da’ bus edition

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN the last ‘What’s up with da’ we brought you the email edition. This week, after speaking to a number of persons, we decided to bring the What’s up with da bus edition.

I am sure that some time or the other we have all had some ‘knicks and knacks’ while driving on a public passenger bus that have caused you some degree of annoyance.

Cindy said, “What’s up with people tapping people on their shoulder asking them to pass up money? I absolutely hate it…just pay when you enter.”

Leon, on the other hand, smiled and said nothing really annoys him on a bus because his mind is just on getting home most the times. “But what’s up with people letting the bus stop at one point to put off a passenger then stopping the bus like two houses down again? Come on, they could have just jumped off at the first stop and make it easy,” he added.

Culture had a slight different view as his problem was not with the passengers but with the bus drivers. He asked, “What’s up with bus drivers who have those new big busses that only have few windows and don’t want to put on their AC when it is raining and they know the bus is hot?”

A school teacher, who prefers to remain nameless, wants to know what’s up with people having the bus windows tear right back blowing out your hairstyle.

Twenty-four-year-old name Ron asks, “What’s up with bus drivers stopping anywhere they feel like to put off or take on passengers?”

“What’s up with some people on buses who are too lazy to move for you to get out and expect you to squeeze up yourself just to accommodate them?” asks Mel.

Keeva said, “I hate when people sit next to me and are talking on their cell phones and talking hard, hard in my ear. What’s up with da?” she asked.

Dave asked, “What’s up with some people smelling high like a kite and being sweaty as ever and what to come sit next to you?”

There you have it. So, until next time, remember to keep looking out for those ‘What’s up with da’ moments because you never know what the next topic is going to be.
