St Kitts: The Advancement of Children’s Foundation (ACF) is pleased to announce the launch of its new web site.  The goals of this website are to provide our visitors with background information on our Foundation and to provide the necessary steps to request funds from the Foundation.

  Included on the site are details on the types of projects eligible for funding, the application process, an online application form and details on funding limits.  The ACF will fund 80 percent, of a successful applicant’s budget, disbursing a minimum of EC$10,000 to maximum of EC$40,000.  

The approval of projects to fund is based on the priorities of the ACF.  Not only is the ACF a donor but it will also get involved in suitable projects.  The number one priority of the Foundation is to support projects that prevent or rehabilitate delinquent and criminal behaviour in youths, followed closely by those that enhance parenting skills and family development.  

Visitors to the website also have the opportunity to contribute towards the ACF by making donations online using secure features offered by St Kitts-Nevis and Anguilla National Bank.  The website also includes press releases, photo albums, and details of programs funded to date.  The ACF held a slogan competition in January 2009 and 10 winning slogans were selected, all of which are featured on the website and on four billboards that are strategically placed around the island.

The ACF is currently supporting a Parenting Facilitation workshop organized by the University of the West Indies.  The objective of this workshop is to produce a cadre of trainers who would, in turn, provide community-based training in parenting techniques to parents and other relevant individuals.  The ACF anticipates that this approach would quickly penetrate local communities thereby producing more competent parents and guardians in every area of the Federation.

The Advancement of Children Foundation was established in June 2008 to counteract the trend of rising violence and antisocial behaviour amongst our youths through the promotion of good parenting, family and social values. It is founded by the Rotary Clubs of St Kitts and Liamuiga, St Kitts-Nevis and Anguilla National Bank, TDC, LIME, Christophe Harbour St Kitts and the Marriott.
