‘Jun Jun’ shot and killed in Ponds Pasture

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST three days after the shooting-death of two cousins, the Federation has recorded its fourth homicide for the year.

     

    Dead is 28-year-old Eric ‘Jun Jun’ Thompson of Ponds Pasture.

    According to a police communiqué, preliminary investigations revealed that the incident occurred at about 10 o’clock last night (Feb. 11) when Thompson arrived at his home and was shot several times by a lone gunman.

    He was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Members of the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and had collected several items of evidential value. 

    No one has so far been arrested, however, investigations are ongoing.

    The police are therefore appealing to anyone who might have any information regarding this incident to contact the Violent Crime Unit by dialling 467-1887 or 467-1888, 662-3468, or by calling the Crime Hotline at 707. 

    Eric ‘Jun Jun’ Thompson’s death has taken to four, the number of homicide committed in the twin-island Federation for the year; three on St. Kitts and one on Nevis.

    On Tuesday (Jan. 22), 28-year-old Jelani Liburd of Craddock Road, Nevis succumbed to gunshot injuries at the Alexandra Hospital after he, along with 22-year-old Keon Moore of Bath Plain, were attacked by unknown assailants while in a motorcar in the Stoney Grove area about 6:12 a.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 1).
     
    Thirty-three-year-old Musa ‘Ziggy’ Warner and his 22-year-old cousin, Shakeem Warner. both of Green Tree, Old Road, St. Kitts, were shot sometime after 10:00 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 8) in the Green Tree area.

    They were transported to the JNF Hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.

    An autopsy performed by Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Valery Alexandrov, on the cousins’ bodies, concluded that while Stevens’ death was a result of gunshot wounds to the head, Warner’s death was a result of multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
