Two killed within hours apart in St. Kitts

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TRIGGER happy individuals continue to plagued the society as two more homicides have been recorded in the twin-island Federation for the year.

     

    Reports reaching SKNVibes, which was confirmed by the police, stated that two men were killed in separate shooting incident just hours apart.

    Shortly after seven o’clock last evening (Feb. 13), Vere Amory, also known as ‘Stiff Jacket’ and ‘Money’, of Ponds Pasture, Newtown was reportedly playing a game of dominoes when he was shot and killed in the Alley, Sandy Point, some 10 miles on the western corridor of Basseterre.

    Approximately seven hours later, Joel ‘Booyaka’ Phillip of St. Johnston Village was reportedly shot to death while asleep in his home aback of the Police Station (Traffic Department)..

    Though confirmed, police are yet to provide details on these homicides.

    Meanwhile, this media house has learned that a third person was killed this morning.

    More on this and the other two shooting incidents in a subsequent article, as SKNVibes awaits word from the police.

    Amory and Phillip’s death have taken to six, the total homicides committed in the twin-island Federation for the year; five on St. Kitts and one on Nevis.

    The first one took place at about 6:12 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan.1) in the Stoney Grove area, Nevis, where 28-year-old Jelani Liburd of Craddock Road and 22-year-old Keon Moore of Bath Plain were shot. Liburd succumbed to his injuries at the Alexandra Hospital on Tuesday (Jan. 22).

    The second and third homicides occurred sometime after 10:00 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 8) in the Green Tree area, where 33- year-old Musa ‘Ziggy’ Warner and his 22-year-old cousin, Shakeem Warner. both of Green Tree, Old Road, St. Kitts, were shot. They were transported to the JNF Hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.

    The fourth homicide victim was 28-year-old Eric ‘Jun Jun’ Thompson, who, on arrival at his Ponds Pasture’s home, was shot multiple times by a lone gunman at about 10:00 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 11).
