10 in custody regarding shootings in Ponds Pasture

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TEN individuals are currently in police custody assisting with investigations into two shooting incidents in Pond Pasture on February 11 and 12 respectively.

A press release issued earlier this evening (Feb. 14) by the Public Relations Office of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force states: “It was brought to my attention today that many of you did not receive this email that was sent yesterday. As a result, I am forwarding it again.”

It noted that one of the shooting incidents occurred on Monday night (Feb. 11), which resulted in the death of 28-year-old Eric Thompson.

The other incident occurred during the wee hours of Tuesday (Feb. 12), in which an unknown assailant or assailants had fired several shots at a home. However, no one was injured.

The release also stated that the 10 men in custody “are also being questioned about their involvement in organised crime in the Federation”.

Three more homicides were committed since Thompson’s shooting death.

The first one was that of Vere Amory, also known as ‘Stiff Jacket’ and ‘Money’, of Ponds Pasture, Newtown, who was reportedly shot and killed in the Alley, Sandy Point shortly after seven o’clock last evening (Feb. 13).

The second one was that of Joel ‘Booyaka’ Phillip of St. Johnston Village, who was reportedly shot to death while asleep in his home at about 2:00 a.m. today (Feb. 14).

And the third homicide victim was Gavin Rogers, who was reportedly shot to death in his Wingfield Road home shortly before midday today (Feb. 14).

Therefore, since the police could have resent a press release this evening that was purportedly issued yesterday (Feb. 13), it then begs the question: “Why wasn’t there a press release with details surrounding the circumstances of the triple homicide?”
