Bath villager on firearm, ammo charges

    Craddock Road man on cocaine charge

     

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – JALANI HOWELL, the driver of the vehicle within which an illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition were found, was slapped with three charges yesterday (Feb. 15).

    The Bath Village resident was charged with Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition and Smuggling.

    According to a police communiqué, ranks from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force were engaged in a joint Stop and Search Operation in Charlestown, Nevis on Wednesday (Feb. 13).

    During the Operation, a vehicle was stopped and a searched revealed the find of a Glock .40mm Pistol with 10 matching rounds.

    Howell was the driver and he, along with the pistol, ammunition and the vehicle, were taken into police custody.

    That was the third firearm to be taken off the streets of the twin-island Federation for the year. 

    Meanwhile, as the joint Operation continued on that said day (Feb.13), Elvis Richardson of Craddock Road, Nevis was stopped and searched in Charlestown.

    According to a police statement, he was found with four transparent dime bags containing cocaine.

    Richardson was charged yesterday with Possession of Cocaine.
