Officials from St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards are special guests on Working for You on Wednesday, February 20

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 19, 2019 (SKNIS): Officials from the the St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards (SKNBS) will be the special guests on the popular government radio and television programme “Working for You” on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.  

     

    The panel will include Stuart LaPlace, Director of the SKNBS; Jermine Mike, Head of Standardization/Air Quality; I-Ronn Audain, Head of Metrology; Avicia Sweeney, Head of Microbiology Department; Dr. Marcus Natta, Science and Research Manager; and Franklyn Connor, Head of Chemistry Department.

    The St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards was officially established on 8th day of March 1999 under the National Bureau of Standards Act No 7 of 1999, now the National Bureau of Standards Act, Cap 23.15. The Act provides for the establishment of a standard council to administer the affairs of the Bureau under the Ministry of International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs.

    The panel will engage the public on the progress made at the SKNBS, its mandates and where it is heading; and the importance of the work carried out at the SKNBS and the standards that are adopted at the Bureau. The importance of Metrology will be discussed along with microbial analysis of food and water; GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms); and chemical analyses, among other pertinent issues.  

    Hosted by Lesroy Williams, “Working for You” offers news, views, reviews, interviews and all the happenings of the Team Unity Administration, which has pledged transparency, accountability, good governance and a fair share for all citizens of the Federation.

    The programme features government officials, heads of government departments, permanent secretaries and other government officials who will provide you with timely, relevant and accurate information as it relates to the social, economic, human, political and sustainable development of St. Kitts and Nevis.

    “Working for You” is carried live every Wednesday on ZIZ, WinnFM and Sugar City Rock from 1:30-3:00 pm and rebroadcast on Freedom FM and Von Radio on Thursdays from 7:30-9:00 am and 10:30-12:00pm respectively, and CBN-Radio on Sundays from 5:00-6:30 pm.
