LIME to reward youth advocate

LIME Press Release

BASETERRE, ST. KITTS – 17TH AUGUST Summer vacation for many young people means a welcome break from school while they look forward to a number of youth-specific summer camps.  While most become actively involved in camps or similar activities, some are not keen to take advantage of these opportunities.  This summer however, the Caribbean’s leading full service telecommunications provider LIME is offering young people every reason to do something positive with their time.  Those who do will likely find themselves on the receiving end of rewards in recognition of their positive involvement.

The company has announced that it will be providing a prize valued at US$100 for an individual between the age of 13 and 21, who spent even a part of their summer holidays giving voluntary service to a charitable cause or organisation, performing community service or working on an initiative designed to benefit the less fortunate.

LIME Country Manager in St. Kitts & Nevis, David Lake reaffirmed the company’s commitment to working with young people and encouraging them to remain on a positive path. “LIME has always been a strong supporter of the youth and we think that young people who actually use their spare time to make things better for others should be rewarded and highlighted as an example for their peers.”

Any member of the public can submit nominations to LIME by describing the contribution made by the nominee in 300 words or less.  Nominations can be sent via email to laverne.caines@time4lime.com
or faxed to (869) 465 3767 or they can be dropped off at any LIME office or retail location. Nominations close on Monday August 31.

Parents and guardians of young people are encouraged to enroll their children in a programme for the balance of the summer.  Winners of the Random Act of Kindness would give young people bragging rights for their achievements this summer, so here’s an opportunity to start thinking of a positive activity and have the spotlight turned on you.
