BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - JUST over two years after Prince Harry had visited St. Kitts and Nevis, more royalties are headed to the Federation. This time, however, it is the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
The official announcement of their visit was made yesterday (Feb. 20) by the Government Information Service, where it was disclosed that their Royal Highnesses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, are scheduled to pay a royal visit to St. Kitts and Nevis on March 21.
While in St. Kitts and Nevis, the Prince and Duchess are expected to undertake a programme to demonstrate the country’s commitment to heritage restoration, the environment and local culture.
The royal tour will begin in St. Lucia on March 17, then it will move on to Barbados on March 19, followed by St. Vincent and the Grenadines on March 20, Grenada on March 23, thence to Cuba on March 24. The tour will culminate in the Cayman Islands on March 27.
This will be the Duchess of Cornwall’s first visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Grenada and The Cayman Islands. And, historically, it will be the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall’s first visit to Cuba.
