By: VhCommunications, Press Release

Basseterre -The Nigerian artiste, known as Davido, has issued an invitation to fans worldwide, to secure their tickets now, for what is expected to be a magical performance by him, at the St. Kitts Music Festival in June this year.

Since being announced as one of the artistes who will grace the stage of the Festival, his popularity has been soaring amongst Caribbean fans. His music too, is fast becoming a staple on many radio stations and in the parties and fetes in the region.
Fans have already fallen in love with his big hit song, Fall, which has already chalked up almost 114 million views on YouTube, (113, 932 298).

As the first Nigerian artiste to attain the milestone of 100 million YouTube views, there is no wonder that the “coolest kid in Africa”, is destined for greatness on the world stage. But as he rises the ladder of success, the people of St. Kitts and Nevis and the Caribbean, will have the opportunity, for the first time, to witness, what is shaping up to be an epic performance at the 23rd Annual event, scheduled for the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium, on the outskirts of the St. Kitts Capital, Basseterre.

Though originally billed to perform on the Friday night, (28th June), the organizers of the festival in St. Kitts have announced a slight change to their line-up and Davido will now appear on Thursday, 27th June, along with a host of top class soca artistes from the Caribbean.

Chairman of the Artistes Selection Committee, Ambassador Jonel Powell, explained that the minor change was necessary due to challenges in flight arrangements and an increasingly busy worldwide performance schedule for the artiste.

Additionally, Small Axe Band, the current Carnival Road March Champions of St. Kitts & Nevis, will also see their performance night switched from Thursday, 27th to Friday, 28th June.

This change will actually enhance the overall line-up, with each night of concerts featuring a unique blend of popular genres. But Powell was quick to add that generally they will still maintain the usual themed nights of Soca & Calypso, Reggae & Dancehall and R&B and Hip Hop.

The St. Kitts Music Festival will open on Wednesday, 26th June, with a grand Welcome Reception at the Christophe Harbour marina, and later that same night, the Escape Fete, at Salt Plage.

The concert nights will run from Thursday, 27th – Saturday, 29th, and the festival will close on Sunday, 30th June, with a beach party known as White Sands, at Carambola.

Other artistes scheduled to appear this year at the festival are Smokey Robinson, Ella Mai, Buju Banton, Popcaan, French Montano, Nu Vybes, Small Axe, Cocoa Tea, Infamus and many more.
