SARID DVN’S hit song “Where Is The Church?!” nominated for three Regional Gospel Awards

By: Ian S. Richards, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Mar. 12, 2019 – Fresh off of his outstanding performance at a major national gospel concert in St. Kitts, Gospel Recording Artiste, SARID DVN was greeted with the news that his hit song “Where is the Church?!” has been recognized as one of the best in the Caribbean Region by So Arise Music International (SAMI).

Where is the Church?!, released in October 2018, has earned three top nominations from the Antigua-Barbuda Gospel Music Award (ABGMA). The most notable nomination is for Best Music Video. SARID DVN, whose real name is Donovan Grant, is a nominee for Songwriter of the Year Male, while Dason Fraser of ISI Visual earned a nod as a finalist for the Best Music Video Director Award.

In response to his nomination, SARID DVN said: “Words are not enough to express the gratitude and honour I feel right now. I want to give God Almighty thanks for sending the right people with the right talent and resources to bring the vision and music to life. Praise be to God for His wonderful blessings towards me.”

The song speaks directly to the original purpose of church as detailed in Revelations Chapter 12, Verse 17: “… keep the Commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” The compelling video is alive with natural imagery, coupled with a soulful and intriguing sound, and a thought-provoking message.

To date, SARID DVN has thrilled audiences during live performances of the song in St. Kitts and St. Lucia. The song and its video have garnered much commendation on radio, on the street, and social media.

“The feedback has been great,” he said. “It was a joy and extremely exciting to perform at the Unity Gospel Concert last month and the good Lord allowed the people to react to my ministry in a warm and receptive way. Fans on social media praised Grant for his performance. The night’s acts also included Gospel Artistes Nicole Ballosingh of Trinidad and Prodigal Son out of Jamaica.

The performance in St. Lucia was just as entertaining with some fans describing it as “being on fire.” Comparisons to the Jamaican deejay “Lieutenant Stitchie” resonated among the audience. Persons attending the ABGMA on Saturday, April 27, 2019 will have the opportunity to experience this for themselves when SARID DVN takes the stage during the award ceremony at Caribbean Cinemas in Antigua.

In the meantime, persons are encouraged to vote, then vote again and again for SARID DVN and Dason Fraser in the three categories that the song and is nominated in. Public voting is now open and runs up to March 31, 2019. It will count towards the selection of the winner from the finalists.
