KINGSTON, Jamaica – MOVE over size eight and say hello to the full-figured beauties! Full figure women are now in demand in the Caribbean as Pulse Model Agency will be hosting a model search dubbed “Caribbean Model Search (CMS) Full Figure Female Model Parade”.

From the pages of French Vogue to the centerfolds in the Pirelli calendar, it is clear that the international fashion industry has diversified to include full-figured or plus sized models.

And with the Caribbean said to be one of the top contenders in the business of beauty, Pulse, the region’s top model agency based in Jamaica, had to expand their annual search for new talent.

Set to showcase the beauty and confidence of full-figured women while empowering them through promoting and advocating positive body imagery and self-confidence, voluptuous femme fatales will take fashion center stage at the September 6 CMS Live event as they compete for top honours in this inaugural parade.

So, are you a full-figured beauty who has always dreamt of rocking the runway? If you are, and are between the ages of 18-35, full-figured, vibrant, fashionable and personable, then pulse is inviting you to audition today (Aug. 19) for the premier CMS plus size model competition.

Finalists will be judged on Look, Stage Presence, Personality and Poise and will appear on the grand runway showcase at CMS Live.

In addition to the new category, Pulse is also recruiting those who think they got the ‘look’ to compete for the traditional Jamaica Fashion Model, Male Face of Jamaica and Petite Jamaica Fashion Model titles.

The 26-year-old CMS event has been credited with jump-starting the careers of some of the world's best talent including 2002 winner Jaunel McKenzie. Other CMS stars include Nell Robinson, Oraine Barrett, Gaye McDonald and Jeneil Williams.

Pulse was founded in 1980 by Kingsley Cooper and Hilary Phillips and, three years later, the Jamaica Fashion Model competition (the Caribbean’s first model search) was founded.

The company currently represents several stars in world modelling including Vogue and Gucci models Nadine Willis and Jaunel McKenzie, as well as Sports Illustrated swimsuit model & Esquire cover girl Carla Campbell, Arena cover girl Nell Robinson, Abercrombie & Fitch campaign star Oraine Barrett and Cosmo cover girl Sunna Gottshalk.

Fashion Television described McKenzie this March as the top new model in the world. Through its annual Caribbean Model Search, Pulse discovered and developed these models in Jamaica before introducing them to the international marketplace. McKenzie is rated in the top 25 models in the world and is likely to reach the top 10 in the near future. She is the world’s number one black model (models.com).
