BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – J’MIQUE ISSAC, the 17-year-old of Conaree Village for whom a missing bulletin was issued, was located and taken into police custody yesterday (Mar. 23).
According to a police communiqué, family members had assisted the police in locating the Washington Archibald High School student who is unharmed and in good health.
It also stated that the police would work along with the Child Protection and Probation Services to further their investigations.
“The police is heartened by the number of persons who have contacted various police departments and officers, and sent messages through our social media platforms to express concern over this matter. We would like to thank everyone who reached out, in different ways, to inquire about J’Mique’s well-being and tried to assist with locating her,” the communiqué read.
Isaac was last seen at home by a family member sometime after 8:30 a.m. on Monday (Mar. 18) bedecked in her school uniform.
This was the second time in less than a month that the teen had ran away from home.
Last month, police had issued a bulletin headlined “Runaway Teen”, which stated that she was last seen in Charlestown, Nevis by a family friend sometime after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 26).
Two days later, the police had issued a communiqué headlined “Runaway Teen in police custody”, which stated: “Seventeen-year-old J'Mique Isaac who was reported as a runaway teen has been located.
“The Police were able to find J'Mique and took her into Police custody. She is unharmed and in good health. The matter will be handed over to Child Protection and Probation Services for further investigation.”
