BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AFTER more than a five-year absence from the winner’s circle, a male has taken the Kajola Employee of the Month (EoM) award.
Alfredo Rodriguez broke the streak when he received the award for the month of February.
The first-time winner was recognised for his sterling performance over the 28-day month and was caught off guard when the announcement was made.
The technician expressed a sense of profound gratitude for the recognition he received, as he amasses nine years with the company.
“This is the first time I am getting the award and I wasn’t expecting it,” he noted.
The man of few words, while speaking with SKNVibes, could not withhold the smiles and excitement.
“I am part of the Committee of the Latin Festival, the running around and everything. I am very excited and overjoyed to win the award,” the maintenance employee said. “You know I was walking around with them and I danced with them, then all I heard was congratulation Alfredo, you are the Employee of the Month. I really, really did not expect this award!”
Rodriguez said awards such as the one he received motivates for employees to work harder and be punctual.
“This makes me feel very, very good because it allows me to take my job very seriously. This year I was saying that I need to work a little harder to see if I can get it, and then now I got it,” a smiling Rodriguez said.
He is encouraging everyone in and outside of Kajola Kristada to work hard, whether there is an incentive involved or not.
