BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE on St. Kitts have reported that an armed robbery took place in the Clay Ghaut area on Saturday night (Apr. 6) and they are seeking the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrator to justice.

The report stated that at about 11:30 p.m. on the night in question, a lone armed, masked man had entered a bar in the Clay Ghaut area, demanded money and escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash.

No one was reportedly injured during the incident. However, the police report did not state if the bandit had robbed a patron or patrons, or if it were the owner of the bar.

Investigations into this matter are ongoing and the police are asking members of the public who might have any information leading to the apprehension of the robber to contact the Criminal Investigation Department by dialling 469-5392 or contact the nearest police station.

Just over 24 hours earlier, an armed robbery had taken place on Nevis.

Police had reported that three armed masked men had confronted Ralph Ottley of Brazziers as he was about to enter the yard of his home.

The bandits then demanded money from Ottley and managed to escape with a small sum of cash.

Police said that before fleeing the scene, they fired several shots and Ottley was transported to the Alexandra Hospital, where he was treated and discharged for minor injuries.

The police report however did not state the cause of Ottley’s injuries, but noted that investigations are ongoing.
