BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A male resident of Old Road is in police custody for shooting a man, who he suspected to be an intruder of his home.
According to a police communiqué, preliminary investigations have revealed that at about 7:00 a.m. yesterday (Apr. 15) while Elmoth Rawlins was at his Old Road Home, he heard someone entering through the kitchen door and he fired a single shot with his licenced firearm in the person’s direction.
Reportedly, Dijourn Richardson of Buckley’s Village was the person who had entered through the kitchen door and was shot in the neck.
Police further reported that Richardson, along with his stepfather, had previously been doing electrical work on the said premises.
He was transported to the JNF General Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and is currently warded in a critical condition.
Rawlins and his licenced firearm were taken into Police custody.
