Pedestrian hospitalised from Fort Street traffic accident

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A traffic accident that occurred on Fort Street in downtown Basseterre last Friday (Apr. 12) has left one man hospitalised.

     

    According to a police report, the accident occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. and it involved motor car PA7183, which is owned and was driven by Jevon Ritchen of Taylors Village, and Stanley Thompson of Ponds Pasture.

    Reportedly, Ritchen was driving north along Fort Street and when he got in the vicinity of Big Sale the vehicle collided with Thompson, who had decided to cross the road from behind a parked vehicle.

    Thompson sustained injuries to his left leg and waist and was transported by ambulance to the JNF General Hospital, where he is warded in a stable condition.

    Ritchen was was taken into police custody for questioning and subsequently released.
