Armed bandits rob supermarket in Old Road
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THREE men, including a juvenile, have been charged in connection with an armed robbery that took place in Upper Monkey Hill on Tuesday (Apr. 16).
According to a police report, 23-year-old Estevan Lawrence of Stapleton Village, 18-year-old Elandre Connor of Neverson Street East, Newtown, and a juvenile were arrested and formally charged with Armed Robbery on Friday and Saturday (Apr. 19 and 20).
Meanwhile, police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Good Friday (Apr. 19) in Old Road.
A police report stated that investigations have so far revealed that at approximately 7:20 p.m. on the day in question, three masked men had entered a supermarket, confronted a cashier and demanded money.
“The men had what appeared to be firearms. They took a sum of cash from the cash register before fleeing the scene. No one was injured during the incident,” the report stated.
The police, however, neither provided the name of the supermarket nor where it is located in Old Road, but stated that investigations are ongoing.
