BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE man, who was arrested and charged last September for posting a number of placards bearing the photographs of three police officers on lamp poles, was yesterday (Apr. 29) fined EC$1,000.

The name of the man was given as Winston 'Zaba' Sprouse of Rosemary Lane, McKnight and, according to a police communiqué, he was recently convicted and fined EC$1,000 to be paid in one month or serve six weeks at Her Majesty’s Prison.

Sprouse was charged on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 with Posting Placards Without Consent.

The fact of the case is that on the morning of the day in question, he had posted a number of placards depicting three police officers with words that were menacing in character on lamp poles around Basseterre.

According to the police, the photos were posted without the owners’ consent. And following his arrest, he was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.
