Family, friends congratulate Dr. Michelle Lynne Blake

Dr. Michelle Lynne Blake
By: Rigel Warner

Basseterre, St. Kitts - Michelle, daughter of Glen P.L. Blake and Yvette Battice-Blake, Canadian by birth and also a proud citizen of St. Kitts-Nevis, has joined the rank of Doctor of Medicine having graduated from the University of the Americas on May 13, 2009 in Worcester, Massachuetts, U.S.A.

Michelle attended the University of the Americas in Nevis from January 2005 for two years then proceeded to the Leouard Medical Center, Louisanna, where she did her clinical and obtained her doctorate. The faculty there was so impressed with Michelle that they requested her services in Residency.

Michelle herself is a “miracle” – during her first year in College she suffered from a very rare brain tumor, underwent extensive surgery and treatments and was proclaimed well in December 1999. Michelle studied throughout these ordeals and was victorious.

Her goal as an Internal Doctor is to provide quality health care to the underprivileged and impoverished people. Her illness has made her understand that physicians bear society’s fear of illness and hope for well-being. She has resolved to meet the challenge of unceasing pursuit of patient care and research.

Michelle’s ambition is to open a clinic at Round Hill, Nevis, the birth place of her paternal grandmother Dolly Chaderton Blake and which is within proximity to the University of the Americas, Nevis.

May God bless Michelle and grant her unbounding happiness and success in her career.

Michelle, we love you – Family and friends in the Caribbean.
