BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POPULAR Jamaican dancehall artiste Beenie Man will be hosting one of the biggest, most anticipated events of the summer. The event, dubbed “Beenie Man Sizzle”, kicks off at 6:00 p.m. tonight (Aug. 22) at the National Stadium.

According to the Jamaican Observer, the event is being promoted to commemorate the ‘Girls Dem Sugar’ singer’s 30th year in the entertainment industry. Veteran dancehall queen Lady Saw presented Beenie Man with a crown and robe during a show-stopping performance in front of a crowd of over 30 000.

Bennie Man Sizzle will be organised in segments, including Oldies, Soca, a Gaza, a Big Ship and possibly an Alliance.

Davis told another media house that his original intention was to host a free concert, until the reality of the costs hit home. He said nonetheless, he would be giving away 5 000 tickets.
